Screwing the pooch

Is there anything original I could add to the discussion about the abuse of prisoners by US soldiers at Abu Ghraib? I doubt it. I will merely emphasize what others have doubtless said.

The final battle in the war on terror will not be for territory but for Muslim public opinion, which is why this war must be conducted with restraint and the most scrupulous judiciousness. Every time will fall short of that standard, we hand a victory to the terrorists.
